The barking of your dog is annoying and before you take any action you must understand why your pet is barking. There are many reasons for excessive barking of your pet. Excessive barking of your can be divided into two groups: Excessive barking due to happening of an event and Excessive barking without reason.

Excessive barking due to happening of an event

Your pet can bark when something catches their attention or when something happens. Your pet may respond by barking excessively when they have to go through a situation. Dogs are protective about their territory and respond by barking when someone or something enters their territory. When your pet barks they want to convey that someone has trespassed their territory.

Excessive barking without reason

At times, your dog may bark without any apparent reason. If your dog barks without any reason, it becomes difficult to find out what is troubling your pet. If you don't find any apparent reason, then your pet could be barking because they are bored, lonely or anxious. If these are the reasons why your dog is barking, they will stop barking when you give them attention.

So before you start reacting, try to find out what your pet is trying to convey. Only when you listen to what your pet is trying to covey, will you be able to stop them from barking. Try to find out what is troubling your pet and take steps to ensure they are happy and satisfied.
